A couple of firsts

Last week, I had an exciting time doing my first book signing, and very first school visit. On Monday, I went around different branches of Waterstones in London with the lovely Natalie from Head of Zeus, signing copies of ‘The Mystery of The Colour Thief’ and ‘Girl 38’. It was very surreal to see my books out there in the wild, with some of my own childhood favourites. In the Kings Road branch, ‘Girl 38’ was on the same shelf as ‘Emil and the Detectives’ by Erich Kastner which I absolutely loved when I was little – I was dead chuffed!

Then on Wednesday, I spoke to Years 5 and 6 at the William Tyndale Primary School in Islington. They were a fantastic bunch, and many of them had some amazing story ideas of their own. We talked about the writing process, where stories come from and why they’re important. I was super impressed to see so many keen readers and writers!
